Notable Soundtrack Album Covers of 2020

In film music review site circles “best of” lists are common but one of the more unusual “best of” lists was one I read over at Ley Bricknell’s Filmic Tracks. Ley listed eight of her favourite film music album artworks of 2020. For a long time the death of the album artwork was being predicted when the format for music went from LPs to CDs: the smaller format just didn’t do the images created to accompany the music any justice. It was true that not being able to hold a large LP in the hand and pour over the lovely artistic creations of these LPs could be a disappointment. But a lot of the album covers were just versions of film posters with movie artwork or stock photos from the movie.
